Very slow launch in Win 11 24H2

Hello,

Since updating to Windows 11 24H2 (Build 26100.1882), Acrobat takes ages to launch. I found out that disabling Security (Enhaanced) -> Run in AppContainer fixes the problem, but that's obviously a workaround.

I'm using Acrobat 2024.003.20180 (latest). Attaching the log file.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Thank you. You are 100 % correct. Turning off Malwarebytes exploit protection resolves the slow start up issue. Thank you.....You saved me alot of time. Hope this gets resolved soon.

Hey, I’m experiencing a similar issue after upgrading to Windows 11 24H2 as well. Acrobat is taking forever to launch. Disabling the Run in AppContainer workaround helps, but Id prefer a proper fix. Any insights or suggestions on what might be causing this delay? Thanks!

Same problem here,

I'm a legal user of the Adobe CS6 Master Collection, since a view months Windows 11 is taking approximately 10 minutes to boot.
When I look in Window's task manager, it says: AGCInvokerUtility.exe is having much influence in the booting process.
AGCInvokerUtility.exe also calls the AdobeGCClient.exe as a sub-process which has little influence.
After 10 to 15 minutes booting, my system runs 'as normal'...

I'm not using Malwarebytes so that is not the problem, and my F-secure virus scanner is telling me both executables are fine.

Is there any sight on a quick fix?

Note

  • My Dutch Windows 11 version is 24H2, build 26 100.4202.
  • Adobe Acrobat is version 10.1.16, as far as I can tell with the latest updates. If I run Adobe Acrobat Updater it says: "No updates available".
Same goes for the other programs in my Adobe CS6 Master Collection.
  • AGCInvokerUtility.exe is version 8.6.0.79, build version 8.6... [unreadable]
  • AdobeGCClient.exe is version 8.6.0.79, build version 8.6... [unreadable]
--- " Ü " --- I'm a Dutch Adobe CS6 Master Collection user, works fine for me ;o)

Hi @C.Denninger,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for the trouble with our AGC setup and process.

Adobe Genuine Checker is an application that ensures you have a genuine version of the Adobe Apps.

That said, it is not required to run on the system at startup, but when you work with the Adobe Apps, they need internet access or to be verified for the license.

Have you tried disabling the processes by clicking the icon on the top toolbar?

Once done, restart the system and let us know if it works for you.

Regards,
Souvik.

This worked for me too! Just moving the window on the screen was seconds laggy. I disabled Security (Enhanced), closed and reopened the file and now the window moves with no lag.

Malwarebytes aka ThreatDown pushed out an update that resolves this issue. Our systems are working fine now with appcontainer turned on with exploit protection turned on. Hope this helps!

I had the system update yesterday (24H2). Got an Acrobat update today. EXPORTING to PDF (pages with many little images in them) from another program is panfully slow now, it used to be quickish, now it's painful. I just run windows defender. I ran Glary Utities, it seems to fix slowdown, but not here. I did export some simpler files with less images, it seemed quicker.

Do I need to rebuild acrobat or somthing? Any tips?

I went into the CC app, I uninstalled Acroshat. Renstalled it. It works much quicker now. Rebuild didn't do it.

Never goining to upgrade windows again. My next upgrade will be when I'm issued a new computer.

I was having the same issue as well. I turned of AppContainer for now as a temporary measure and let Malwarebytes AKA ThreatDown know of the issue. Will see what they say about it. I am not sure whos issue it is.

Hi @alexander_3102

Sorry for the inconvenience caused. Letus investigate the issue at our end and update you with possible solution. Please share me some details:

  • Has the issue started recently after upgrade to Win11 24H2 or was it happening previosly as well?
  • Is Bit Defender in your machine installed as an Antivirus?
  • Can you whitelist Adobe Acrobat exe on bit defender and see if problem goes away?

Thanks,
