Video Buffering forever in Acrobat Pro DC for Mac

The attached document contains a movie that should play on click (in Figure 8). After I click on it and set the appropriate trust in the file, the second time I click to reproduce the movie, the file buffers forever and does not reproduce the movie. A pop up window says "Buffering..." and the blue progression line has arrived to the right end of the pop up window, but nothing happens.

I can play other movies embedded in PDF files, and I know that when using Acrobat Pro DC on Windows the movie plays without problems. I have tried using in the Preferences>Multipmedia (legacy) both "QuickTime" and "Flash", but the problem persists.

The data of my system:

Acrobat Pro DC version 2020.009.20067

Operating system: Mac Os High Sierra version 10.13.6

Laptop: MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014).

Is there anything I could do to properly play the movie in the mentioned PDF with Acrobat Reader Pro for Mac?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You should use a MP4/h.264 encoded video, not an AVI.

Many thanks! I will let the publisher know about this possibility for them to change the format of the movie. I'll let you know whether the fix up works.
