Question

What is requried to allow user to save fillin fomr including entered data?

Search of previous questions revealed a note about javaScript,  however my troublesome form does NOT contain any JavaScript.  At least, the JavaScript options are greyed out in the Acrobat toolbar.  Any Security ( or other) settings I should be looking at?  An earlier version of the form allowed Save As to created a copy of the fill in form including the data.  That version is no longer available, So I am attempting to find what was changed in current version to prevent this functionality.

NOTES:

  1. File can currently be saved using File SAve AS however the saved as file does NOT contain any of the data entered into the file.
  2. File was -previously created using Adobe Live Cycle, with extended rights assigned in Acrobat X

Currently using Acrobat Pro DC.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated

JR.

What has changed since the form was originally created in LiveCycle?

Why are you using SaveAs?

Is a regular Save not allowed?

Please be clear with your explanations. In general, the only reason a form would not save data is that it is protected in such a way that does not allow the form to be modified.

What has changed since the form was originally created in Live Cycle?  I am not sure as I was not involved in the development in LiveCycle

Why are you using Save As?  To store a electronic copy of the form including data, for email transfer, etc.  We are NOT using  Adobe sign and send services

Is a regular Save not allowed?  NO, the file is stored on a SharePoint site, we do NOT want uswers saving their data into the form on SharePoint, therefore we want then to a SAVE AS to get a copy including their entered data.  Understand teh Save AS does indeed save the form where instructed, but it stores the empty data form, without their data

So, from your description I get the impression that at one time you were able to save the form with the data intact. Then something changed and the form can no longer be saved with the data.

To solve this issue It's very important to understand what changed. I would suggest you talk to the people who were involved in the change.

Additionally I'd suggest you open a local copies and try just saving it to see what happens.

And finally, can you post the form so we can check it out?
