When I try to convert a PDF with spot color to cmyk, the preflight tool crashes.

Help, on deadline and not able to convert PDFs with spot color to CMYK as I have in the past.

Hi,

With the latest release of Acrobat on 29th Nov., this issue has been addressed. Make sure you are on the latest update by visiting Help > Check for updates ( 18.009.20050 Optional update, November 29, 2017 — Acrobat and Adobe Reader Release Notes ).

You could try using the convert colours tool > ink manager to convert the spot to process first. Then run your preflight, which will no longer choke on the spot colour (if this was really the problem).

Actually, I tried that, but that crashes acrobat.

Sorry, but you cannot attach data by responding via e-mail. The best way to transfer data is via Dropbox or other cloud file sharing service.

When responding via e-mail, witch is really convenient, if the answer is short, make sure not to have personal information in the mail or signature.
