White line appearing on PDF under cutting guide - PDF experts help!

I have made a CMYK PDF for print, with a cutting guide in a spot colour. When the cutting guide layer is uncjecked in print preview, there is a white line underneath! How is this happening and how can I remove it please?

I can't attach it for reference, even though it's a PDF under 8Mb! Can anyone help without seeing it?

Thanks for any advice!

P.S. If I understand correctly, this is NOT a layer in PDF terms, it's a spot plate (spot colour). Something very different.

Yes, it's a design choice, just like choosing the colour, and possibly in the same place. If you're not sure, I suggest the InDesign forum.

Thanks I worked out how to set to overprint, and it worked, thanks so much for your help!
