Why am I getting a pop up say Invalid type or value in a layer object? Will it still print?

Could you provide more details ? What application are you using ? Which settings for your file ?

Does that mean you have the same problem? I suspect that this is due to a corrupt PDF file: The error message points to a problem in a layer object. With Acrobat Pro DC, you have the Preflight tool, which does allow you to check a file for syntax errors.
