Hi Grahamm,

Sorry for the delay in response.

I see you have Acrobat Pro subscription active on your account. If you are converting Excel>PDF format. Open Excel sheet, click on Acrobat PDFMaker tab>Preferences, under "Settings" tab click on "Advanced Settings" then Click on Fonts category and make sure "Embed all fonts" and "Subset embedded fonts when the percent of characters used is less than: ... " are checked.

Also, you may try: PDF fonts, Adobe Acrobat  link https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/pdf-fonts.html#font_embedding_and_substitution

Please let us know if that helps. Or if you have already found a resolution/workaround to this query, please reply to third with your findings that will help.

Just replying to this old thread to add that it just worked for me as well. Thank you.

Tip--If things still look just as small once in acrobat, make sure the zoom % is set to your desired setting. Our PDF still looked the same size, but the zoom was at 15%--which we believe it had auto-adjusted to. Once set to 100% or desired zoom, font size looks great. Combine with "fit to page" settings on PDF savings as well for additional tweaking & matching, depending on column and row count.
