Why should I have to subscribe to convert a single-page pdf to word?

I find it utterly ridiculous that Adobe will not let me convert a 1-page document without a premium subscription. Why should I have to subscribe for a single page? I thought it was over 50 pages required a subscription, not one. This is so stupid.
