I admit that I've never seen a version of Windows as screwed up as 11 (it makes Windows 8 look good in comparison). Every day I use it, I find things that are just dumb. After months of struggling to get it to not combine open files on its taskbar, I tried the opposite today - to get 11 to combine all files by type (Excel, PDF's, etc.) so it only shows one icon for each type of file. That worked with Excel, but Win 11 ironically insists on showing a separate icons on its taskbar for each PDF I opened.
This is maddening. I'm beyond caring whether Win 11 combines all PDF's into a single icon , or shows eacg separately on the taskbar. I just want it to be consistent. How the F do I force 11 it to do that?
Btw, has Adobe given up on fixing the problem of 11's taskbar cloning PDF icons when one is dragged from one monitor to another? A phantom PDF icon still appears next to the real incon on the destination monitor's taskbar when I do that, even though you can't do anythign with that phantom icon.

I just found an article saying that adobe & Microsoft are working on a tweek that will help with Edge.
Microsoft Edge and Adobe partner to improve the PDF experience
Hopefully this will be released and will make Edge suck less.
I'm resigned that there's no saving Windows 11. Seems that MS has turned over the design of it, Teams, etc to millenials and their kids. As a result, the user interfaces are now as illogical and inconsistent as cell phone apps (fitting, since Win 11 now refers to programs as "apps").
