with creative cloud my files are going away?

I just got the email of this update.  I don't know if my files are on my desktop, cloud, creative cloud etc. I don't undertand this and when I read the acrobat discription I got even more confused. Is there a video tutorial?  can I talk to a person who can walk me through the process so that I don't loose everything?  Imac pro, I pay about $12 a month to acrobat for membership. . I don't have that many files.  [Moderator deleted private information. Please do not post private information like e-mails and phone numbers]

What will go away is the ability to sync files to the creative cloud: https://assets.adobe.com/files on the web, Mac HD/Users/<Username>/Creative Cloud Files on your Mac. Check this document: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/eol-creative-cloud-synced-files.html (scroll to the chapter: Where do I find my Creative Cloud Files folder on my local device? for a quick update, which files are concerned).

In short: if you have files at that indicated location, and you enabled syncronization (it's enabled by default, but some disable it), then there will no harm done, except that the copies to the cloud will get deleted. Your only copy of your files will by then be what you have on your harddisk.

As for documents that you have stored in your document cloud, you will not lose those. They are not synced with your computer locally the same way as synced files are. They will survive.

As a precaution, consider backing up your important files. Copy them to an external drive or another secure location to ensure you have a backup in case of any unexpected issues.

Hi @juliette2681857304b2 ,

If I am not mistaken,  documents that are handled with an active paid subscription  of Adobe Acrobat Pro are backed up by default in the Adobe Document Cloud , not in the Adobe Creative Cloud (ACC).

However, the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app do play a key role in syncing different types of creative content files and PDFs accross all of your devices (or with other Adobe software assets) through the Adobe Creative Cloud services.

But the location preference on where to store all of your PDFs can be customized manually to  save and share all of your PDFs with another cloud space service of your choice or choose to save them locally on your desktop computer (designating your computer's local storage as the default Adobe Cloud storage location instead).

You may also choose to not sync data or  backup files automatically if you need  to have more manual control of your desired workflows.

If you are not finding your files on your personal computing device, you can go online and sign in with your Adobe ID to check if your files are being saved elsewhere on the Adobe Document Cloud:

Also check the Adobe Help Center guidance below:

Quick note:

This is an Internet public forum, I would recommend to not share personal email contact information (avoid spammers).
