Word 365: Save document in High Quality PDF - page shifts?

Hello,

when I save my Word document as PDF via "Save As" (as Office's built-in PDF solution), the PDF document looks exactly like in Word. So for example the first 5 pages have 29 lines with Times New Roman, font size 12.

However, when I use the Adobe Acrobat PDF maker option, those 5 pages of 29 lines each suddenly become only 4 pages, with the first 3 pages having 30-31 lines each.

I go to the top of Word to the "Acrobat" tab, basic settings, Word tab, check all out.

I would like to use the High Quality from Adobe. But with the current settings, there are page shifts because suddenly "more fits on one page" - from 29 to 30/31 lines.

Question:
What would have to be done in the settings to make the PDF High Quality document look EXACTLY like the PDF simply generated by Word?

I need the High Quality, because of the graphics, the shading etc. which are all not present in the simple PDF variant.

Looking forward to help from you.

Thank you for your support. I was able to find the "solution": Changing in Word 365 from printing view to edit view, back to printing view, that's it. I don't get it, but with this approach, the Word document increases the number of lines per page and the gap between the footnote line and the last line of text decreases. Must be a bug.

We weren't asking you the page count - you told us that this was less - we were asking you the page SIZE. You can get the page SIZE by hovering the mouse in the bottom left corner. You will see a size in inches or mm. Please tell us the size shown for the "good" and "bad" documents.

Though to be honest, why do you care? Word changes page count often and randomly, it's not a tool for precise page layout.

What is the page size in Acrobat? Is it the same as the original Word document?

Of course, it changes. As described above, even the first of 8 chapters becomes 1 page shorter. So the overall number of the high quality PDF is lower in comparison the normal Word document or a basic PDF created directly from word / save as PDF option.

PAGE SIZE, not page count.

Compare page sizes please!
