Help. I saved some files on a disc that I thought was a .PDF file.  However, upon trying to open them up I got an error stating there was an error.  I then found out the file is a XML file.  Is there anyway to get the PDF file or info back?

Hi Justind,

As per the description above, you want to convert the XML file into PDF, Is that correct?

If you have Acrobat Pro X or later click Tools and look under Forms. Perhaps More Options - Manage Form Data - Import.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Anand Sri.

Hi, that didn't work. I am still getting the same error that

Adobe Acrobat could not open 'duck17epr2.pdf.XML' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).

To create an Adobe PDF document, go to the source application. Then choose Save as Adobe PDF from the PDF dropdown in the Print dialog.

Hi Justind,

XML (Extensible HTML) is not a file type that Adobe Reader can open. Usually, only a browser or editor (like Dreamweaver or Notepad/TextEdit) can open XML files. You'd need to create a PDF of it using Acrobat Pro or Adobe's online service

Please share the following details:

* Please confirm the version of Acrobat installed on your computer?

To check the version of Acrobat, launch Acrobat>navigate to Help menu>select About Adobe Acrobat

* Please confirm, are you using Acrobat or Reader.

Regards,

Anand Sri.
