0:104 error message_2012 R2 Terminal Servers

We have a couple of 2012 R2 Terminal Servers, with Adobe Reader DC installed on them.

When the users trying to open PDF documents in Internet Explorer, Adobe Reader gives a 0:104 error message.

We have tried disabling "Protected Mode" & "Run all Administrators in Admin approval Mode" features, removing and repairing Adobe Reader DC and running the cleaner etc, and it's still not working...

The Users have virtual disk profiles which are used when connecting to the servers so they are consistent between the two.

Please note that it's working fine with Google Chrome.

Could you advise on whether any debug feature could be enable to help resolve the issue?

I suggest you look for other suggestions once you have tried the latest updates and reported back.

    Any other suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Hello Robbiem,

We're sorry for the trouble you had. Please add the URL and folder paths in Adobe Reader from Edit>Preferences>Security(enhanced) and see if this brings any difference. For detailed information, you can refer to Adobe article Trust Methods — Acrobat Application Security Guide

Also, If possible, disable the protected mode of IE. What is the current version of IE installed?

Check the Adobe Reader process monitor and Windows and see what is causing the error to occur Download Acrobat and Reader Process Monitor Tool - Adobe Labs  https://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatmonitor.html

Let us know how it goes and share your observation.

    Thanks,

    Anand Sri.

    Any other suggestion?

One person found a registry fix. Look at reply 20 in this thread: Adobe Reader DC 2017.012.20098 not opening in IE

Does it happen with the current version by the way, that's an old version.

We have already tried that registry fix, and it's still not working...
