Acrobat DC ... I now have to save before viewing.

Something has changed in the preferences of my Adobe Acrobat DC.  It used to be that if I wanted to view a pdf I would click on it and it would open.  If it had merit and I needed to keep it....  I would save it to an appropriate file.  NOW that has changed where if I click on a pdf.  it asks me to save it....   a pain since I may not want to keep it, especially after reading it.  I have a mac.  I am an Acrobat DC Pro user.  Any suggestions as to how I can return to just a look at the pdf and then decide what to do next.  Thanks.

You're looking in the wrong place for options.Chrome makes the decision: shall I show this PDF now? Or download it and stop? Or download it then open it with Reader? Or prompt for a download?

Reader only gets involved after Chrome has decided what to do. So if there is an option for you, it's in Chrome somewhere. It might also be that Chrome has changed how it works.

Are you viewing the file inside a browser? If so, which one?

If it’s inside a browser it typically would be Chrome. I can speak to attachments in emails, since I haven’t observed what happens with those. So yes, it would be chrome.
