If these files are in emails and you opened them directly in the Acrobat Reader they Never got saved to your hard drive. They were Read from the email attachment and displayed in Reader.

To remove them completely you have to delete the email message.

If they are in the list of recently opened files in the Reader program there isn't much you can do about that. that is unless you delete the email they were attached to. Then reader will lose the connection to them and they should be removed from the recent list.

That is because they are Part of an Email message. The only way to remove them it to delete the email message.

Are you using an Email Client, IE a Email program installed on your computer, or are you reading your email in a Web Browser?

Even though they may be in the Recently viewed, opened, read, list in Adobe Reader they don't need to be deleted from that list. But if this is something that bothers you see if this post helps.

Not true. All PDF files that are viewed are automatically downloaded to a local drive, even if only as temporary files.

Hi

On a Mac, you can Command+Click the title bar in any application, then click the folder it is in to navigate to the folder in the Finder. The Mac puts items read in Mail in a folder called Mail Downloads, then in a subfolder with a long string of characters.

In Windows you delete files using the Windows File Explorer. I don't use Windows, but if there is an equivalent folder for attachments in Windows, the location might depend on what software you use to read your email. You can't delete files from Acrobat Reader.

What FILES ar you trying to Delete?

Is it the actual Adobe Acrobat Reader program you want to remove, Delete, from your system?

Or Files you have opened in Adobe Acrobat Reader.

For File use the File Manager that comes with the operating system. For Mac that is Finder. For Windows that is File Explorer (Or if you are using Win 7 or prior it is called Windows Explorer. Same thing, different first name).

For Windows Locate the files you want to delete (use the Search Function, type in the File name) and select and hit the Delete key.

For Mac basically the same thing except Right Click after Selecting and select Move To Trash.

Then Empty the Trash or Recycle Bin, Respectively Mac /Windows.

I don't know about the Reader program but in Acrobat DC near the bottom right hand corner of the opening screen, where all the Recently opened files are listed, there is a link that reads "Clear Recent" Clicking that removes all the entries on that list.
