acrobat opens 17 times in w11

If I check pdf files in explorer -details-  acrobat will no longer show these details after a few files. If I then open taskmanager, I see Acrobat is opened multiple times (up to 17 times!) In win 7 (good old days) I never had that problem.

Not only acrobat stops, the same issue occurs when using firefox.

Is there anyone who not only can explain this, but preferably has the solution.

Thanks in advance,

Gerard, alias Kiter

Hey there @Gerard290667148vu5

Sorry that we missed addressing your issue on time.

In such a scenario, it seems that Acrobat's processes are running in the background, even though nothing comes up on the main screen.

These duplicate sessions need to be terminated. For that can try these steps:

1- First, reboot your device/computer.

2- Launch Acrobat, and if you still see the background processes starting again. Then,

3- You must do a clean install for Acrobat-

Run this cleaner tool to remove the existing installer and application’s file traces:

https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html

Download the Acrobat installer from here:

https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html

Download the Acrobat Reader installer from here:

https://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

This should resolve the issue. Let us know if it doesn't help.

Thanks,

Akanchha
