Question

Acrobat Reader DC Advanced Search window not opening

The advanced search window isn't opening. I have restarted my machine, restarted Reader and tried with several files.

It previously worked on this file, and all others.

I have tried the menu option and using the hotkeys.

Help to fix this appreciated.

    Hello Adamt,

We're sorry for the trouble you had with the advanced search option in Adobe Reader, try opening the Advanced search option from the keyboard Shift+Ctrl/Command+F, or from Edit > Advanced Search.

You may also refer to the help article Searching PDFs, Adobe Acrobat

Are you getting any error message or error code when trying to access the Advanced search option in Adobe Reader?

Repair Adobe Reader once and reboot the machine, help>repair installation.

Make sure you have the latest verison of Adobe Reader 19.010.20091 installed, check for any pending updates from help>check for updates, reboot the machine after updating Adobe Reader and check.

Are you not able to access the advanced search feature in a specific PDF file or is it with all the PDF files?

Are you on a Mac or Windows machine and what is the version?

What is the version of Adobe Reader installed? To identify, refer to Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC

    Thanks,

    Anand Sri.

Reboot the machine and install the latest version of Adobe Reader 19.010.20091 from Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

    Hi,

    I'm in Mac Mojave 10.14.3.

When I check for updates in Reader, it says I'm up to date.
