It's been a while since someone asked this question. Can Acrobat Reader DC be installed on a PC that already has Acrobat XI Standard installed? Acrobat XI Standard came bundled with a purchased scanner.

Yes, absolutely it can. Acrobat Reader DC is a free application that anyone can download from Adobe's website or Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Install for all versions
And as you said that you have the Acrobat XI standard license, so that can be installed and that would work separately than the Adobe Reader app.
And if you are referring to Adobe Acrobat DC (subscription/license) and Acrobat XI Standard (License) then it will only work when one is license or stand alone (Acrobat XI Std.) version and other is subscription (Acrobat DC).
