Question

Acrobat Reader DC

Got error message: "There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat Reader. If it is running, please exit and try agaib. (0:531)"

Problems this has caused: Financial statements don't download. Comments on news sites don't download. When trying to download comments I get this error message in yellow banner across top of page: "A web page is slowing down your browser. What would you like to do? Stop it. Wait."

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program and spent hours with Just Anwer, where I was directed by
Adobe and problem still exists.

Suggestions anyone?

Adobe should not direct you to Just Answer — they ought to have directed you to the forums (here). Can you tell us how you contacted Adobe and more about that interaction?

Hi There,

Thanks for reaching out. As described above, toy are getting the error 'There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat Reader. If it is running, please exit and try again', correct?

It seems that you are trying to view PDF on the browser when you get this error message.

Please check this help document: Error "The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running cannot … view PDF …" Adobe Acrobat and Reader.

If you receive the same message, please try the troubleshooting steps provided in this document.

If the issue still persists, please share the screenshot of the error message you get.

Also, What is the version of the Adobe Reader installed? to check the version of the application please use the link  - https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/identify-product-version.html

Please check for any missing updates and try updating the application to the latest version 19.21.20047. Go to Help > Check for Updates and see if that helps. For more information about the latest version please us e the help link  - https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/index.html

Let us know how it goes

Regards,

Amal
