How can I switch Acrobat Reader DC back to the protected mode. Before it was in the un protected mode, Acrobat would freeze and I'd have to back out. Any ideas?

    Hi Gmac1317,

Try to follow below mention steps and see if that resolves the issue.

1- Launch Reader as an administrator, locate Reader's shortcut on the desktop>right click>select Run as administrator.

2- If that doesn't work, repair Reader, launch Reader>click Help menu>select Repair Installation.

3- If step 2 doesn't work, download and run Cleaner tool from here: Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs  ,

restart the computer, then download and install Reader DC from here: Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

    Thank You,

    Shivam

It doesn't freeze during the loading of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC but after a few minutes of scrolling through documents in a pdf file. This all begin after an update to the program mentioned above. It says my computer doesn't have the correct system configurations.

    Hi Gmac1317,

Try to follow the steps given in the following link:

Troubleshoot errors, freezes | Adobe Reader | Windows

Could you please confirm the product installed on your computer- Acrobat Reader DC / Adobe Acrobat DC?

What is the current version of the product. For ex, for Acrobat Pro DC, launch Acrobat>click Help>then select About Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.

Please follow below mention steps to enable protected mode:
