Hi there,

There's an issue in the latest Acrobat Reader version (2022.002.20212) where loading a PDF via redirect intermittently fails to load within IE. The following screen recording shows what happens:

When the issue happens, it seems we cannot load the PDF in any of the available Acrobat Reader processes. If IE decides to open a new content process, then fresh Acrobat processes may get launched, loading the PDF fine, potentially for a few subsequent attempts, most likely failing again afterwards. The real scenario is in IE mode but the above repro was done in IE for convenience. If the PDF file is accessed directly (second URL in the repro steps below), then the issue cannot be reproduced (at least as easy as via redirect).

I can't attach a Fiddler trace with the repro, so it would be great if there's any other means to provide this to you, but here's the repro steps anyway:

  1.  Download Fiddler Classic
  2.  Open the attached trace in Fiddler
  3.  Navigate to the AutoResponder tab and select Enable Rules
  4.  Drag the two requests in the left pane to the AutoResponder rules area. You should end up with:
    2022-10-04 11_17_21-Clipboard.pngexpand image
  5. Open IE and enable capturing (F12)
  6.  Copy the first URL and follow it in the IE window
  7.  Open additional tabs and paste the same URL until the issue is hit

If you are unable to reproduce the issue, please let me know.

Appreciate your help!
