I have a free version of acrobat reader. It must have updated. Every time I open a document now, a window comes up that says "Check out the new Acrobat Reader DC".... and wants me to "start tour". Is there a way to get this to stop coming up every time? It's slowing down my work. I tried creating an account and signing in, but it still keeps coming up. I've taken the tour multiple times and it still comes up. 😕
Anand Sri's answer worked for me with the same problem!
If you want to disable the 'Start-tour' option, you can change the registry settings:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\DC\FTEDialog]
"iFTEVersion"=dword:0000000a
"iLastCardShown"=dword:00000000"

Hello Tpa,
We're sorry for the trouble you had with Adobe Reader, what is the version of Adobe Reader installed? To identify, refer to Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC
Which operating system/version are you on?
We're here to help, just need more info.
Thanks,
Anand Sri.

Hello,
I have the same problem. We run a Windows server 2012 R2 Citrix environment. Everytime they log in and start Adobe for the first time they get the tour message. Can i disable it somewhere with an registry key perhaps?
We run Adobe DC version 19.008.20074

Dear "STAFF" (person at adobe commenting on this thread)
WHY? Why did you send a PM to only one person? 175 users have the same question. Why not answer it here for all of us? I'm running Win 10. HP desktop about 2 years old. I went into Reader settings > general > turned off messages when starting reader and checked 'don't popup messages ...' or something to that affect. It still insists I take the tour and then it wants me to sign into adobe.

Hi Azenergizerbill,
There isn't any specific reason that I have shared the steps by private/direct message to the users. Initially , the fix was in a validation process, so the information was shared directly to the affected users.
If you want to disable the 'Start-tour' option, you can change the registry settings:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\DC\FTEDialog]
"iFTEVersion"=dword:0000000a
"iLastCardShown"=dword:00000000"
For screenshots, please refer to the Adobe discussion pop up
Feel free to update this discussion if you need any further assistance.
Thanks,
Anand Sri.

Hopefully Adobe will fix an easier way to get rid of that nagging invitation to take the tour, when the user has been offered the tour once.
There is no good reason to show this at every start, and it's ridiculous that the user should edit the registry, as the only solution.
My two cents.

Exactly that, what a load of toss. You have to change the registry. Are these guys completely lacking any common sense? Get it sorted Adobe. I wish there was a new competitor on the market. They have a monopoly now and that isn't good for anyone
