Acrobat Reader updates

I have seen more updates for Acrobat Reader this year than for all the prior years combined, and I have used it since 1998. I just updated last week to version; 23.003.20269.0. Now there is another update available and Windows 10 64-bit is bugging the heck out of me to update again. 

Are all these updates legitimate and necessary?
