Acrobat uses excessive CPU when not being used

If acrobat is left for a long time it will use a core, enough to make the CPU fan on my laptop go to high rpm mode. I will kill acrobat and it will go back to normal, until after an undetermined period of time, it will start using the CPU again for no reason. It also wastes battery life. How can I get it to use no CPU when not in use?

Oh and after you let it run it uses excessive memory. While leaving the computer on over the weekend Acrobat used 46G of memory. I have about 13 documents open.

Thanks for highlighting this issue. Acrobat does/should not be using this much memory.
You may try the following steps once:
Run this cleaner tool to remove the existing installer and application’s files traces:
https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html
Download the Acrobat installer from here:
https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html
Thanks,
Akanchha

Hi, I have the same problem with excessive resource usage when the Adobe Acrobat is left unused. Could you advise for solution?
