Adboe Reader DC versus with Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0

My bank, Scotiabank tells me that I must have Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0 installed to view online statements.  I have Adobe Reader DC installed and can find no way to replace this with Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0.  What can I do?

    Surprising but good. Ignore any misleading message (which probably says Reader 7.0 or later, anyway); if the bank say it won't work in FireFox, they should know. And of course, they should fix it, but that's another story. PDF files are working less and less well in browsers if they use anything fancy.

    Could you let us know the web browser you are using to view online statements- Chrome/Internet Explorer/ Safari?

    What happens when you are trying to view pdfs online?

    You may also try downloading online pdf on your computer and open it in Reader DC. More info here: Opening PDFs, Adobe Acrobat

    I use Firefox browser.

    When I attempt the view my Scotiabank statements on their online banking site I get a page telling me that I must have Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0 installed (I have Adobe Reader DC installed).  When I call the support desk for Scotiabank Online Banking, they tell me that statement cannot be viewed in Firefox and must be viewed on Chrome or IE.

    I have absolutely no problem in viewing .pdf files and may other web pages using Firefox.

    So does the bank stuff work in Chrome?


    It works with Chrome.
