I cannot access Adobe on my computer and can only access PDFs through preview. Second, I need to make edits on PDFs and I need a full version is required, Acrobat Reader alone will not work. When I open in preview it is Acrobat Reader. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your question is not clear at all. Do you have Adobe Acrobat? If so, what version?

And yes, you can't edit PDF files with the free Reader. To be able to do that you will need to purchase or subscribe to Adobe Acrobat.

Sorry Try67.

I have Adobe Acrobat (AA reader DC version 18.009.20050). However, I can't access my documents. Before I was able to click on AA on my mac, but now when I click on it no Pdfs open. I can only access Pdfs through preview.

Does this make sense? I do not know why it wont open anymore. Or is it normal to open through preview only.

You don't have Adobe Acrobat. You have Adobe Acrobat Reader, ie the free application.

It seems the issue is just with the default application that is associated with your PDF files.

I know how to solve it in Windows but not on a Mac, so maybe someone else can help you.

In the meantime simply open your files via File - Open from within Reader, instead of double-clicking them.

And Preview is a buggy application that should be avoided.

I follow those steps and nothing opened. This is frustrated. I tried contacting Adobe (support services) and they were awful with customer service. Said they couldn't help me and that I need to come here. Any other recommendations?

There is no support for Acrobat X, it is far too old. There is in any case no support for any version of Reader. Why do you run such an old version?
