Adobe Acrobat and Express is slow

New Here ,
Aug 21, 2025 Aug 21, 2025

I use Adobe Acrobat to edit documents, but it takes a very long time to delete, resize, move, or add text. I close other applications on my computer to see if that affects its speed.

I also use Adobe Express to create designs in documents; however, it frequently crashes or takes a long time to load its features. I close other browser tabs on my computer to see if that's affecting its speed.

Hi there,

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out and sharing your experience. I’m sorry to hear Acrobat and Express are running slowly for you.

For Adobe Acrobat, here are a few things you can try:

  • Make sure you’re on the latest version 25.01.20630  (Help > Check for Updates).
  • Try turning off “Enable Protected Mode at startup” for testing. Go to Preferences (ctrl, cmd+k) > Security (Enhanced) to see if performance improves.
Note: Please turn on the security after testing to avoid any security risk.
  • If possible, repair the installation from the help menu  > Repair Installation and reboot the application once. (Win Only)

For Adobe Express, since it runs in the browser:

  • Clear your browser’s cache and cookies.
  • Make sure your browser is updated to the latest version.
  • Try using a different browser (Chrome, Edge, or Firefox).
  • Disable browser extensions temporarily to check if one of them is slowing things down.

If the issue continues, please share your system details (OS, version of Acrobat, and browser you’re using for Express) to help us narrow down the issue further.
