Adobe Acrobat and Reader DC – June 2021 Update Release

 

June Release 

Acrobat and Reader DC June release is now available with some amazing new features which enable you to do more. See what’s new in this release. 

 

Adobe recommends installing updates of the Acrobat DC and Reader DC 21.005.20048 (planned update) for Windows & Mac as it addresses some important bug fixes. 

 

How to install Updates? 

  • Install updates from the Help menu of Acrobat/ Reader DC. In the application, go to Help > Check for updates. 
  • Reboot the machine once after updating the Adobe Acrobat/ Reader DC. 

 

For detailed information on the latest updates and to download the latest patch manually, please see the Release notes. 

 

The new update will bring the following improvements or new features to the application: 

  • Web sign-in for configuring online storage accounts and Gmail account. 
  • Customization Wizard enhancements. 

          Note: Adobe is testing the Acrobat Reader 64-bit application only in the select geographies.

         Gradually, the 64-bit application will be available in more geographies. 

  • Sign enhancements.

          Note: This feature is being rolled out as an experiment in Acrobat DC, and the menu options may

          not be available to all users.

  • Migration to a new cryptography library - SafeLogic CrytpoComply. 

          Note: This feature is being rolled out incrementally and may not be available to all users. 

  • Signature Panel enhancements. 
  • ARM processor support on Windows. 
  • Microsoft Information Protection (MIP) plugin for 64-bit Acrobat and Acrobat Reader. 
  • Secured screen sharing for MIP-protected files on Windows. 
  • Sort files in Online Storage accounts. 
  • Navigate to the previous or next page using the mouse left or right-click. 
  • Extract rich media assets from PDFs on Windows. 
  • Resolve Acrobat's frequent sign-in prompts.

The few important bug fixed in this release: 

 

Bug fixes for Acrobat DC continuous track 

  • PDF Maker: PDF Maker Add-in is not loaded sometimes in MS office applications/ O365 with COM-Add in Error (Acrobat Pro DC) 
  • Accessibility: Acrobat crashes when copying text. 
  • Installers: Unable to update Adobe Reader via SCCM 
  • Sandbox: Supporting environment variables “username” in the trusted location. 
  • Security Settings: Inconsistency in the minimum password length in Acrobat 
  • Browser: SAP: Zoom-in/out in one PDF affects other opened PDFs 
  • Export: Page numbering does not work properly after PDF to doc conversion 
  • Organize Pages: Getting “bad parameter” error while inserting documents. 
  • Search: ‘Working on it’ message doesn’t go away until the user starts typing in the find tool 

 

Bug fixes for Acrobat Pro 2017 classic track 

  • PDF Maker: Extra straight line appeared in some charts. 
  • Printing: Unable to print using IE for latest Win 2004/20H2 update
