Adobe Acrobat crashing when exiting application

New Here ,
Oct 23, 2023 Oct 23, 2023

Good afternoon

I have a computer that is generating a crash report when closing Adobe Acrobat.

This occurs when a pdf of opened and then closed. (no editing of the document occurs, no changes)

The document can be opened from an email in outlook, locally from storage or from a cloud based database, this issue will still occur.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the application, no change

Crash report shows the following at the bottom of the log

<dumpType>
Full
</dumpType>
<hbLogSessionDllStatus>
ERROR_HB_UNABLE_TO_LOAD_DLL
</hbLogSessionDllStatus>
</crash>

</crashreport>

Device is a Win 11 machine, app version 23.006.20360

Try this, Click the hamburger menu ( 3 lines ) at the upper left corner and choose Disable new Acrobat.

Hi Andreas37051451g47p,

Thank you for reaching out.

The team is aware of the issue and is investigating it.

It would be helpful if you could share the crash logs using the steps provided in the following help document: https://adobe.ly/3xXyYTI

Thanks,

Meenakshi

I never leave comments - I'm embarassed to say how long I worked on this - uninstalling, reinstalling, deleting registry files, deleting all local adobe files, rebooting, updating windows, looking for drivers, creating new user accounts.

This fixed it for me - "Try this, Click the hamburger menu ( 3 lines ) at the upper left corner and choose Disable new Acrobat."
