I am trying to remove password protection from documents received with a password - I know the password but want to save the file without the password protection.

As instructed I go to file/properties/security but there is no option to remove the password - screen shot below.

Please advise as to how I can remove password

I am using Adobe Acrobat reader DC

Version 2020.006.20034

This is not possible in the free Reader. You would need to buy/subscribe to Acrobat to be able to do it.

PS. Just because you know the password to open the file doesn't mean you will be able to remove the security policy for it, if it also limits editing.
