Adobe Acrobat Pro 2017 fillable form not working Adobe Reader

I created a fillable form in Adobe Acrobat Pro 2017. Several of the fields are dropdowns with javascript formatting to highlight the box in yellow if a specific selection is made. This works perfectly in Adobe Pro but does not work in Adobe Reader. Most of my users will have Adobe Reader or deskPDF Studio XE. How to I make this form work with the conditional formatting (i.e. highlighting) for people without Adobe Pro?

Thank you!!!

If that's all it does there's no reason it shouldn't work in Reader, unless it's on a mobile device.

Thank you so much for the quick reply. Unfortunately when I open the document in Adobe Reader 2017 it doesn't work. I have code in the Custom Keystroke Script section of several fields. When the selection specified is selected in Adobe Pro it is highlighted in yellow and remains highlighted after I leave the field. Unfortunately when I repeat the process in Adobe Reader 2017 the selection appears without any highlighting. I'm unsure what I did wrong. I'm sure it's user error on my part. Any guidance is appreciated.

Thank you!!

Works fine in Reader XI. I'll be able to test it in Reader DC later on.

That's good news. Now I just have to figure out why I can't get it to work in Acrobat Reader 2017 or deskPDF Studio XE. I'm sure it's my user error. Unfortunately those are the applications the users will be instructed to use. I don't have control over that.

Thank you for testing it!
