Adobe Acrobat Reader 24.002.21005 - problem "shifted text" in some fonts

After upgrading Adobe Acrobat Reader from version 24.002.20991 to 24.002.21005, the text of PDF documents is displayed shifted into each other in some fonts (e.g. “Calibri”). This problem does not occur with the “Arial” font, for example (see screenshot).
Tested under Windows 10 and Windows 11 on different computers and with different PDF documents. The PDF document is displayed in Edge, for example, without any problems.

Hello, I have the same problem. This now occurs with all PDFs from our customers who print their quotations, orders and invoices from our program. The fonts are displayed correctly in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, SumatraPDF and in the old Adobe version.
I was able to isolate the problem in my case to printing with EDocPrintPro, if “ICM TrueType Front” is set to “Replace with device font” on this printer.
For testing purposes, I changed the font for the individual texts according to the fonts available on the computer.
At the beginning I had just 15 fonts that were read correctly, the rest were all broken.
Since I can only upload images of non-customer-related data, I had to change this and the order of the fonts is now different. Now almost all of them are affected. It seems to me that the spacing is no longer taken into account when positioning the individual characters.  The font size also no longer fits.
It is unlucky that the standard font Arial is affected. With the setting to SoftFont on the printer, at least Arial and a few other fonts work, but still more than half are displayed incorrectly.
I hope the Information help to finde the reason.

Same here! We use an application that generates offers, invoices, etc. The basis is a PDF of our company stationery, which is also filled with the relevant data from the application using 'eDocPrint Pro'.

The font of the basic PDF is readable, the rest is not. I probably don't need to mention that other applications, e.g. PDF24 and similar, display the generated documents perfectly.

As a workaround, I tried changing the system font of Segoe UI to Arial, for example (registry hack): this helps under Windows 10, but we work on a terminal server (RDS) - it doesn't help there!

That wouldn't be a problem - we can use PDF24 to help yourself - but our customers who receive these PDFs obviously also use Acrobat Reader and can no longer read our documents!

A screenshot (name and address have been blacked out) is attached; sorry for the German text, we are in Germany.

This has been happening since the update to 24.002.21005 - since the number of hits on the description of this problem has already reached around 200, we don't seem to be the only ones!

So what do you plan to do?

We are having the same issue with all of our customer facing documents.  This only displays incorrectly for our customers that have updated their reader to 24.002.21005.  Our documents utilize Calibri, however even changing to Arial did not resolve the problem for us.

Good Morning

Since last week all the documents we send in PDF using font Segoe UI are now unreadable by all our customers and vendors.

It is not practical for us to change every document.

What can we advise our customers and vendors to do to overcome this issue.

This problem was first reported to us on 15th August 2024 . This corresponds with the same times as the others here.

Will Adobe be releasing a new version to correct this error ?

Adobe 64 bit Windows 11, 24.002.21005 I cannot read any of my pdf files on my computer with Adobe.  I use the Free Adobe Reader.   How and is it possible to go back to previous version? I can read them with my browser.  Do I have corrupted files or is it an adobe problem?
