Adobe Acrobat Reader DC version compatibility issues

I have Adobe Acrobat Reader DC version 2018.011.20063 running on my home MAC and Adobe Acrobat Reader Pro DC running on my Work Mac and for some reason I am unable to open any of my PDF's created in the older version of Adobe Acrobat Reader on my work MAC? Can you please let me know what i need to do to ensure I am able to open the documents.
