Adobe acrobat reader not working after few seconds

It stops working after highlighting some things . It never happened before but it is happening now. It just hangs and doesn't work. please help

Please check for any pending updates of Adobe Reader from Help>Check for updates. You may also repair the installation files of Adobe Reader from Help>Repair installation(only for Windows).

Reboot the machine after the installation of Updates and repair. You may also refer to Troubleshoot errors, freezes | Adobe Reader | Windows
