As per the description mentioned above, when using Fill & Sign in Acrobat Reader, the screen goes blank as well as nothing happens when you click on the pen icon, is that correct?

Try rebooting the machine, then use Fill & Sign option and see if that works.

If not, check if there is an update available for Reader, click Check for Updates under Help.
