Question

Adobe Acrobate Reader suddenly asking for payment info

I have been using this program for years with access to all its features. It has never asked me for payment info. Suddenly I cannot edit or mark up or sign or fill in documents without being redirected to a site that asks me for payment info to start up a subscription plan.

I won a creative suite in 2012 and cannot say with any certainty if this program was included, but I believe it was. I do not understand why this is happening now.

I'm a student and classes start on Monday; I need to be able to access these features.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Reader is free. Are you maybe talking about Adobe Acrobat, not Adobe Acrobat Reader? The former can create and edit PDF files, the latter can only display them (and add comments or fill in form fields, etc.).

I tried to log onto my Adobe account and was directed to download another program that I didn't want or want to pay for. I just wanted to open some files sent to me. What do lawyers call this kind of activity?
