Adobe ARM files Question

Community Beginner ,
Apr 10, 2018 Apr 10, 2018

I had an MSI file located at:

c:\program files (x86)\common files\adobe\arm\1.0\cache\

It was called ARM_[many numbers].msi Does anyone know what it was for? Is it an Acrobat update file? An ARM update\installation file?

Also wondering where it would have come from and why... Although, knowing what it is may just answer those questions.

If ARM finds at least one supported product for which automatic updates are not disabled, it will self-update.

I would recommend to check that you disabled all products.

Note that ARM supports Services installed with Acrobat\Reader as a separate product for updates.

Please check enterprise support documentation for Admins, specifically this section-

HKLM Path above should be the same path registered with ARM under each PolicyDisableUpdater value in

ARM has it's own self-update mechanism.

The file in question is ARM installer, which is cached as a part of self-update process.

Ahhhh. That's what I thought! How does it get there if I have updates disabled via bUpdater?  Better still, do you know how I can keep the updater from updating itself?

Thanks, Leo. That's excellent info. It's easy to overlook those two bUpdater values.
