We have Windows 7 and Acrobat Reader 19.010.20099 currently deployed to our network and have numerous users who are experiencing the issue. We are predominantly have HP Printers. I have swapped out all of the drivers to use the HP Universal driver PCL 6.6.0 (other versions seem to have issues), updated the firmware on the printers which seems to improve the behavior for a while. Eventually Adobe Reader DC starts freezing again. We have also deleted the Adobe folder from appdata\local, appdata\locallow, and appdata\roaming which does seem to fix the issue for a couple of weeks. Eventually it starts freezing again. This has been happening for a while now and we have been through at least two Adobe reader DC updates since experiencing the issue. We will be deploying 19.012.20035 in the next week. Any help would be appreciated. I am not too confident that I will get a resolution on this as I see that there are a lot of these posts without definite answers.

Hi There ,
I understand your situation , As you described while opening the acrobat reader its freezing , is it happening with one particular file or is it with every file ? If its with one of the file , Please try to open another file and check.
Please do check for the updates of Adobe Reader from Help>Check for updates and reboot the machine after installing update.
Also, do repair the installation files from Help>Repair installation and reboot the machine after Repair
Please refer to the following link for troubleshooting windows system error : Troubleshoot Windows system errors, freezes | Adobe software
Hope this will help.
Regards,
Amal
