Adobe Reader DC does not highlight existing fields

New Here ,

I created a form with Adobe Acrobat which highlights the existing fillable form fields (in the PDF, it's a button called "highlight existing fields"). However, when I double click on the file, it automatically opens up in Adobe Reader DC (I really dislike this version...) and does NOT highlight the existing fields... can anyone provide any insight? I've googled it and couldn't find an answer.. Thanks in advance!

This is not a setting of the file, but of the application. So if Reader is not set to highlight the fields, they won't be highlighted...

It is possible, though, to include a script in the file that will enable that option when the file is opened. However, that will also apply to any other files the user opens, so it might not be a very good idea.
