I'm running the latest version of Adobe Reader DC (2019.010.20069) on a Windows 10 PC (version 1803, latest). Apparently the last Windows update was in May of 2018, and that's probably how long this problem has been occurring. Initially, Reader would open at about 3/4 of my screen size in width. When I tried to shrink the horizontal dimension (hovering the mouse to get the arrows, then dragging), the Reader app would freeze -- couldn't scroll, move or close. I'd use End Task in the Task Manager to get rid of it and then reopen, and the window would be the same size. In looking for solutions on the web, I tried using the Windows Key + left arrow, and it went to full vertical on the left of my screen, at half the width size. I can move it from left to right using WinKey + left/right arrows, but I still can't resize it without the same problem. I've run the compatibility checker which didn't reveal anything, although I tried both Win 8 and Win 7 compatibility modes -- same problem. After reading about a similar problem with Lightroom popup boxes, I looked at the DPI settings, but they are not checked. I hesitate to mess with those just yet.
Does anybody else have this problem? And more important, is there a solution?

well, I THOUGHT I had the latest Windows 10. It said something along the lines of 'latest update applied', but when I checked for updates, there was a small one that was applied. Now, I can resize the Reader window. Problem solved!
