Adobe Reader will not print

New Here ,
May 29, 2018 May 29, 2018

I tried deleting the program and reinstalling it but it will no longer print a PDF.

I just gives a message that it can't print the document and then a message that an error occurred but no error number or anything.

I've tried several PDF files, some that I've printed fine in the past but it wont print.

I'm trying to print to Staples Easy print. I no longer use my printer for anything but scanning.

Any ideas on how to get it to print using Windows 10?

Hello Dougn,

We apologize for the inconvenience caused, as per the description above, you are not able to print any PDF file using Adobe Reader, is that correct?

Please check for any pending updates of Adobe Reader from help>check for updates, reboot the machine after installing any updates and try printing any PDF.

Make sure that you have the latest version of the printer driver installed. Try resetting the Adobe Reader's preferences once and reboot the machine. To reset the preferences, please refer to the steps mentioned in the following Adobe article How to reset Acrobat Preference settings to default.

You can also refer and try the suggestions from the following Adobe article Troubleshoot PDF printing in Acrobat and Reader

What is the dot version of Adobe Reader installed? To identify, refer to Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC

If the issue persists, please use Acrobat cleaner tool to remove Adobe Reader from the machine Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

Reboot the machine and install Adobe Reader from Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

If you still experience any issue, please create a test user profile with full admin rights and install Adobe Reader and try printing any PDF file and see if this issue is reproducible?

Please share the following piece of information so that we can assist you in a better manner:

Let us know how it goes and share your findings.

Regards,

Anand Sri.

I installed the latest driver for my printer a Kodak ESP5 even though I am not even using this printer because it no longer prints and only scans. I'm trying to send a PDF to Staples Easy Print. I used the uninstall tool and removed Acrobat Reader and then reinstalled the latest version 2018.011.20040.

It still will not print my documents. It gives the message "the document could not be printed" and then the message "an error occurred while printing the document". I tried downloading the PFD from the email I got it from but it wouldn't work. I've also tried printing other PDFs and it doesn't work.

I'd attach the PDF I need to print if I could see how to do so.

I tried creating a new User with full admin rights and tried printing the PDF with that new user and I got the same errors.

I hate that there seems to be no other program I can use for printing stuff on this Windows 10 PC and I'm unable to get Adobe to print. It used to work before.

Any other ideas?
