I am using my Macbook Air, running OS Sequoia 15.3.2.. All of a sudden, My Adobe Reader will not load the data, only the forms. I can see the data in the preview thumbnail. It loads fine in a browser. It is from multiple companies (utility bills for example) and even old files. I tried using the uninstaller and reinstalling, it did not help. I tried even using the Adobe cleaner after the uninstall and it would not proceed as it did not see the software on my machine. So...here I am stuck. One thing to note, I used to have the full version with the ability to convert files from PDF to Excel or Word. I uninstalled that since I didn't renew the subscription and tried to install only the reader. Someone please help me if you can...This is frustrating.... thanks !!!!!
Hi there
Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.
Web browsers use their own PDF mechanism to render and display PDF files, and they are not Adobe-dependent.
As described its an issue with verizon, the data is in blocks/unreadable characters. It seems to be an issue related to fonts not being properly embedded in the PDF file while creation or the required fonts are not available on your system to display the PDF file via Acrobat Reader.
Try the steps below and see if that

Hello Philip!
I hope you are doing well, and we apologize for the trouble you had. We have reported the issue of fonts/text missing in PDFs with the latest version of Acrobat and Reader 25.001.20432, Planned update, Mar 11, 2025, and the team is working on a fix that will be available very soon. Could you please share a PDF file in which the fonts/texts are missing for further investigation?
Thanks for your patience and cooperation.
Regards,
Anand Sri.

Unfortunately no because the files I have contain personal data from utility companies. But, I will ask this question - in addition to that, I have started to receive the attached message when I try to open a Microsoft product. Is this related or a different problem? This also started just recently, never an issue before. Thank you.

Update on this issue. Adobe Reader will now display the files online. However, for one company (at least so far), Verizon, all of the data is in blocks/unreadable characters. See attached scan for this. It seems other files are printing correctly and that the PDF file will print correctly out of Safari Browser. It is just Adobe Reader that has this issue. I check for updates in in Adoe Reader and it indicates no updates available. Is there another issue that I need to address? It also is happening only on my Macbook Air. How can i fix this? Thank you.

Try the steps below and see if that works:
Go to 'All Tools' > Print production > Preflight > PDF fixups. Then, select Embed Fonts, and click Analyze and fix. This will embed the fonts or font subsets used in the document, ensuring consistent display and printing across different systems.
