Adobe Reader X closes after a few seconds

Hi,

Since yesterday I'm having problems with Adobe Reader X on Windows 10 Pro 64 bit.

Whenever I open a pdf file it closes automatically within a few seconds.

I tried to update the software version, but it tells me that 'no updates avliable'.

Is there anything I can do?

    What version do you have? If your version is too old, automatic updating is broken too. This crash problem was fixed many years ago, but many people don't have the fix.

    I think I have 10.1.1. 

    Shold I try to download the latest version?

    I'd strongly recommend that you give up on Reader X. It was finished years ago, and has many important and vital security issues that were fixed in Reader XI or Reader DC. Reader DC http://get.adobe.com/reader/

    Be aware Reader DC is completely redesigned and must be relearned!

    However, if you want Reader 10.1.16 go here https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotes/10/10.1.16.html but this will still leave many serious security holes!!
