Hi all,

I have Google'd this issue, which seems to be a common problem, however the only way, like others, I can get Reader to work seems to roll back to an earlier version. I have tried things like disabling reader's "Protected" mode which does not work. I have tried not opening a document at all and just letting the app start and just run without doing anything, but it still crashes after about 30 secs, so it is not a document issue. I have tried re-installing Reader 11 as well as re-installing XP SP3, but it makes no difference. I have also tried several times running Reader DC but that just crashes as well. The versions I have that do work are 7, 8, 9.5.0, 10.0.0. As for other apps running at the same time are concerned, it does not matter, it still crashes irrespective of whether it is the only app running or with other apps running. Now for the PC specs I am running XP Pro SP3 along with Conficker patches KB958644 and KB958687 and the WannaCry patch KB4012598. The hardware is based on an AMD Athlon II X4 620 CPU with 2.75Gb RAM and a 500Gb HDD with 384Gb of free space. Here is a screenshot of the Application log when it crashes

Please, please any help would be appreciated to resolve this issue.

Old versions of Acrobat which are not updated (X and XI) often show this. Apply latest patches (11.0.23). If you can - actually I don't think they were for XP. You may be stuck on this one.

Thanks for that. I went to their FTP site sourced the patch (ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/11.x/11.0.23/misc/)  applied it and now it works just fine. Very many thanks for your help.
