Question

Adobe Reader XI stuck on 'print to file' when printing to plotter.

Hi Folks

having a problem whereby every time I try to print a .pdf to a plotter (HP DesignJet T3500) it keeps looking to save it as a .pdf file. I have unticked the 'print to file' option but it makes no difference. It works fine when I try to print to another printer which suggests the problem is with the plotter. But the plotter is working fine other than with this issue.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Shane

One way to save time might be to open the PDF that is created and use File > Properties > General. The PDF Creator and Producer sometimes will show the name of software in a useful way.

Is it definitely trying to save it as a PDF? Do you get a PDF if you let it?

Yep, it keeps trying to save itself again as a .pdf. There are a lot of pdf printers on it. (Mapinfo, doPdf, Adobe PDF report writer). I'm going to uninstall all of them and see if one of them is effecting it. Thanks.
