I am using adobe acrobat reader DC.
I've been using it for a year or two and have always been able to open documents and write text on them by using the simple "text tool" and then I decided to check out the "text box" and ever since I used that I can't seem to type any text on the documents except by using the text box, how do I go back to the simple text tool?
all the other tools work fine and when I click text tool and type nothing comes up but on the side in the comments section an "a" keeps coming even if thats not what I type. Please HELP!!
I also restarted my laptop and closed the adobe app a couple times but its not working for any documents now
Hi Pavneet,

If we understand your workflow correctly, you used to use text tool to add text in the PDF. Once you have used ""Textbox" to check how it works.

After making changes to the document using text box, did you again try making changes in the same pdf using "Add Text"? Seems the text tool has stopped working here.
In addition-
This is how Commenting tool should look like. Make sure when you select "Text Box" the pin tool shouldn't be highlighted.
Also, what happen when you switch from text box tool to Add Text tool?

This shouldn't be the case as text should be visible on page as well. Please check the font color selected when choosing "AddText".
As this is happening with multiple files, so you may check whether your application is up to date or not.
Open Adobe Reader>Help>Check for update Or refer to the release note: DC Release Notes — Release Notes for Acrobat DC Products >Reboot the computer and check.
