Hello,
We need to test something with and without Protection mode but when we disable protection mode then Adobe just closes when we trying to open pdf files. Sometimes it opens one pdf but always closes/crashes when you trying to open more then one. Working fine WITH protected mode enabled. Does not when it is DISABLED.
We have tried with and without Antivirus without luck.
Anyone who could help where we should start to look or have any solution here?
Adobe Reader DC
Thanks!

Hello Thomasa,
We apologize for the inconvenience caused, as per the description above, Adobe Reader is crashing when the Protected mode is off in Adobe Reader, Is that correct?
With Protected Mode enabled, all operations required by Acrobat Reader DC to display the PDF file are run in a restricted manner inside a confined environment, the “sandbox.” And Adobe does not recommend to turn off the Protected mode. In protected mode, malicious PDF documents can’t launch arbitrary executable files or write to system directories or the Windows Registry.
For detailed information, you may refer to Protected View feature for PDFs (Windows), Adobe Reader
You can check for any pending updates of Adobe Reader from help>check for updates, reboot the machine after updating Adobe Reader.
What is the dot version of Adobe Reader installed on the machine? To identify, refer to Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC
Is it a Mac or Windows machine and the version of the operating system installed? What is the workflow of the testing you are performing?
Let us know how it goes and share your findings.
Regards,
Anand Sri.
