Application Initialization Error when trying to download Adobe Reader

I have a windows 10 all in one desktop computer.  I cannot open or read any PDF files.  I have tried turning off my Norton Security firewall and that does not resolve the issue.  The error message is very generic:  Application Initialization Error.  I have also tried to installing using Google Chrome but receive the same error message.  Microsoft said they cannot help me.  Adobe doesn't offer phone support for Adobe Reader.  Can someone please tell me what I can do to get this resolved??? It is extremely frustrating!

Try to download Adobe Reader from here : Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution , select your Operating System, Language and Version and Download .

Let us know if you face any issue downloading Adobe Reader .

I have the same issue. I already installed Adobe Reader and it works for easy things such as opening a PDF and allowing certain functions, but it does not allow electronic signatures; and for any older PDF copies I have, I cannot modify the signature because it says: I do not have permission.

Is there any recommendations for this?

Thank you so much for this! It worked on my Windows 10 - Dell Laptop.

I have been trying to install from the original website but to my dismay it kept on showing "application initialization error" at the end. I even uninstalled my Norton antivirus to install the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

Please try installing the Acrobat Reader DC from the following page: https://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/.
