Hi,
Since the last update of Adobe Acrobat reader DC I have a black background in my pdf:s. Does anyone know how to change that back to what was before, i.e. white background like in an ordinary paper print?
Also in some pdf:s there is no text, just the background text and pictures of the document form. How come? Before the last update I could download them and the text was all visible. Now no of these documents (i.e. not all of my pdf:s) are readable. I attach an example of how this looks. It is an invoice, and as one can see it lacks of almost all information about how to pay. And these documents did not have this look before the last update.
Would be very greatful for any assistance with these two issues.

The first thing to check is your settings in Edit > Preferences > Accessibility. You may have chosen a Page Background of "black", for instance. If you don't need these settings, then uncheck "Replace Document Colors".
Can you give us a screenshot of this dialog?

Hi Jane,
Since my last post I have chosen to uninstall Adobe Reader from my PC, then download the software from adobe.com, and finally reinstall the programme. And all the problems were gone! No more black documents, and no more invoices without text.
Before uninstallment I searched the Preferences to see if there were any settings wich could explain those black documents, but didn't find any. How it looked like in the Accessibility section I can't remember any longer.
But the main thing is that those problems I had are solved.
Thank you for your effort!

Am I talking to two people or to one person with two logins?
Uninstall/reinstall will fix it, and I'm glad it's working for you now! 🙂 I'm pretty sure you had black text on a black background — I can't think of anything else that would do this.
The accessibility features are geared toward those with visual problems, so the settings are global and affect all documents.
Thanks for reporting back!
Jane

I am having the same problem with printing some (not all) PDFs on my Mac. Look normal on screen but they print with white text on black background. Wasting so much expensive ink and illegible. Can't see how to fix.

checked accessiblity settings and I don't have black background with white text selected. Is installing and reinstallling really the only option?
