Block adobe pdf browser plugin from certain websites

Hello!

We have a bit unusual problem in the company network environment.

Currently in use:

Adobe Acrobat DC

IE11

Windows 10

Very restricted environment in general

Problem:

Opening a pdf file in browser from the network.

Is there a way to disable adobe pdf reader plugin from browser for certain addresses'? i.e. block the plugin from www.abc.com, but allow it for www.xyz.com, so that from abc.com the pdf's are downloaded and opened with acrobat, even though the plugin is enabled in IE? (NOT to disable the plugin all in all)

Tried:

- adobe acrobat DC 2018

- Adobe Reader 11.0.10

- Edit -> Accessibility -> Setup Assistant and disable PDF reader in browser (didnt work or do anything)

- Edit -> Preferences does not have a similar checkbox option that was earlier suggested

- IE -> Manage addons - Adobe PDF Reader "More information" has a "Remove all sites"/"Allow all sites", but doesnt let you specify which sites. All or nothing

- Windows Default programs - .pdf is set to Adobe Acrobat

In short: There is Enhanced protected mode in-use in Internet Explorer settings, which is not allowed to disable.

Opening a pdf-link, which opens up in a new tab or window, causes the CPU (looking from task manager) run up to 99%-100% use and causes the plugin and browser to crash.

After the problem, adobe browser plugin was disabled, so the pdf's were downloaded and opened with adobe acrobat. This worked until it turned out, that the adobe reader plugin is required for something still and not possible to disable.

Thanks in advance!

If such an option exists it will be used early in the process of loading a PDF in IE, before Reader is involved. So the option must be (if it exists) an IE one.
